Real Hunger

Jusr before Christmas we were harvesting some remaining Kale and some new growth Arugula at one of the schools. The kids have been great about trying new things but it cooccured to me that one of the girls was always eating more than her classmates and will constantly ask for more. I always bring additional veggies and she always asks for second and third helpings.

I decided I needed to talk to her to see if there was anything else going on.

I asked her if she had lots to eat at home and with a big smile on her face she flatly replied no.

Keep those kids out side this summer

It is important that kids spend lots of time outside. Tell them to put their phones down this summer!

Fields of plenty

With a couple of weeks of summer yet to go, it’s time to pay attention and appreciate what local farmers and farmers from all over B.C. have grown for us. This time of year has to be one of my favourites as it seems as though almost all produce available at traditional grocery stores, farmers markets and farm stores is locally grown.

Farm Roots Mini-School

It was a great few weeks of fun over Christmas but I am glad to be settling down into a new year.

It won't be long now!

Thanks Century Group for helping with top soil for the Farm Roots Mini School
